Having been involved with the development of Husky hand-held PC’s over a number of years, DP Seals has now designed and produced a complete ‘suite’ of components for the latest Husky fex21 computer from Itronix.

As well as the main seal between the two halves of the case, the Poole based company has also provided high-specification components for the battery pack, screw seatings and access ports - the last of which were produced in a specially formulated silicone to ensure the optimum combination of pliancy and protection.

Itronix has made its reputation on rugged reliability in harsh, outdoor environments and DP Seals play a vital part in achieving the unit’s renowned resilience - having to demonstrate their ability to survive a rigorous series of tests that include high pressure jetting from 48 different angles, a four-foot drop onto a hard surface and temperature variations from -10ºC to +50ºC.

DP Seals is continuing to work on new projects for Itronix and is undertaking further research and development on materials, specification and design to meet the stringent demands of its PC partner.
