Materials technology: FKM [fluoroelastomer (Viton®)]
FKM fluoroelastomers - tradename Viton® - are more expensive than neoprene or nitrile rubber partly because they provide additional heat and chemical resistance:
- excellent long term heat resistance and ageing
- excellent hot oil, aliphatic and aromatics resistance.
- not very elastic.
